To all our supporters and fellow animal activists,

With the recent coronavirus crisis, it’s vital that we care for and support one another.

Here at Freedom for Animals, the health and wellbeing of our staff, our volunteers, our supporters and their friends and family are of upmost importance. As such, we’ve taken the step to cancel all of our upcoming protests for Zoo Awareness Weekend and beyond, and have implemented a home-working system for our small but dedicated team of staff. 

We are an extremely adaptable charity and intend to deliver our ambitious plans for the upcoming year, however this may mean a little patience is needed from our supporters for some aspects of our work. Our office telephone is still available from 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday and all queries made via our contact page will still be dealt with swiftly. 

As we move into the uncertain times that lay ahead, it’s paramount that we are extremely mindful of our own actions and follow the World Health Organisation’s guidance: who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public

Despite the challenges to come, I want to reassure you that we will not stop fighting for animals suffering in captivity. They still need us. They still need you.

Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to effectively campaign for animals whilst maintaining social distancing. 

• Have you signed and shared our open letter to close Borth Zoo yet? 
• Spread the word about our upcoming Zoo Awareness Weekend and help owls and other birds caught up in bird of prey zoos. We are holding this online this year but still have some awesome actions taking place!
• Donate to our Emergency Action Fund to allow us to respond to breaking tragedies for animals, which are taking place right now.
  

By joining us as a Freedom Champion you will ensure that we have reliable funds to continue helping animals in the months to come too. This is one of the best ways to help animals as it means we can plan campaigns well into the future, making sure we can keep going for as long as it takes to free animals. 

Alternatively a one-off gift also makes a real difference now, and can be put to work straight away. 

As with many small charities, we rely completely on the generosity of our supporters, our fellow animal advocates, to keep our fight going strong for animals. So any donations you can make to our campaigns in these unsettled times will be extremely gratefully received. And make a huge difference.
