Adopt a chameleon

Adopt a chameleon with us and help fight to keep them wild and free

Sadly, Chameleons are popular pets and captive in both mobile zoos and zoos. They are, however, fragile in nature and have very specific needs, which are hard to meet in captivity.

In the wild, the vast majority live in trees or bushes, in warm climates, with lots of space to move and run. They dislike being handled, and any small changes to the temperature, humidity, light and noise of their environment can make them seriously ill, or worse. Chameleons do not belong in captivity and we must take action to keep them in the wild, where they belong.

Your adoption will help animals

By adopting a chameleon with us today, you will fuel work to protect chameleons and end their suffering in captivity. Freedom for Animals are campaigning for an end to cruel zoos and mobile zoos, and the exotic pet trade, and an end to the keeping of animals for human entertainment.

You will support undercover investigations at zoos, mobile zoos and other captive facilities, to expose exploitation and to free chameleons and other animals from cruel captivity.

Adopt today to help chameleons like George

George is used by a mobile zoo to entertain humans at schools, parties and events that hire such companies. He is kept in a box like you would keep your sandwiches in and barely has enough room to move around.

He will never feel the fresh air or real trees beneath his feet like his wild counterparts will! You can help animals just like George today by adopting a chameleon.
