Gifts in wills

Your lasting legacy for animals

What a comfort to know that, even after we are gone, the causes we care about can continue. That’s the beauty of leaving a gift in your Will.

By leaving a gift - however big or small - you help ensure Freedom for Animals can continue to be there for vulnerable and suffering animals for as long as they need us. Legacies fund around one third of our work and make lasting change possible.

Write your Will for free

We’re partnered with The Goodwill Partnership to offer you a professional best-practice Will-writing service, at no cost to you, paid for by Freedom of Animals.

The Goodwill Partnership can provide you with your choice of a Home-Visit, Telephone or On-Screen Video appointment to write your will. Appointments are available 7 days a week, daytime and evening.

Once you’ve provided for your loved ones, you may wish to consider leaving a gift in your will to Freedom for Animals, to help us protect animals for generations to come.

Why choose this service?

  • There is no cost to you as you Will is paid for by the charity
  • Home-Visit, Telephone and On-screen video appointments are available to all our supporters in England and Wales
  • Expert, professional and friendly service designed to provide you with a simple Will
  • Once drafted, each Will is checked by a qualified solicitor

Your impact for animals

Freedom for Animals works to end animal cruelty and exploitation through investigations, advocacy, and lobbying the government. With nearly 70 years of experience, the charity focuses on abolishing practices that cause suffering and securing lasting protection for animals.

Over the years, supporters like you have helped achieve remarkable change:

  • Animals have been freed from harmful and cruel practices
  • Helped secure legal protections that prevent suffering for years to come
  • Changed public attitudes towards animals used for entertainment

After decades of determined campaigning, Freedom for Animals helped ban the use of wild animals in circuses across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. These protections ended years of suffering for countless animals and helped change public attitudes about their treatment. Achievements like these are only possible thanks to the long-term support of compassionate individuals like you.

Leaving a gift in your Will is a unique opportunity to continue this work and protect animals today and for generations to come.

How your gift could help

Even a small gift can make a real difference to animals in captivity:

  • £1,000 could support an undercover investigation in a zoo or aquarium to uncover evidence of animal suffering
  • £3,000 could help fund a campaign exposing the cruelty and poor conditions animals endure in captivity
  • £8,000 could fund expert legal support to challenge outdated laws and help change public attitudes toward using animals for entertainment
  • Larger gifts could fund an entire campaign protecting animals in zoos, aquariums, circuses, and mobile animal attractions

Your generosity today could help ensure a future where animals are treated with compassion and respect.

How our free Will service works

A trained Will counsellor from The Goodwill Partnership will:

  • Answer your questions
  • Handle all paperwork
  • Liaise with the solicitor on your behalf
  • Visit you in your home or meet online at a time convenient to you

Leaving a gift in your Will yourself

If you prefer to complete your Will independently, you can still include a gift to Freedom for Animals. Simply add our charity number 1124436 to your Will.

All gifts in Wills, large or small, help us continue our work protecting animals. We recommend that you speak with a solicitor to ensure your wishes are correctly included.

Thank you for your support
