Bruce lives at Edinburgh Zoo with his granddaughter Priya. He has sadly had many losses in his life. Two of his cage mates, and a daughter, all died from fright, said to be caused by fireworks or a storm. He is also frequently subjected to unwanted human interaction and noise, something that is very stressful to red pandas, adding to the risk of death for him too. In the wild, red pandas spend most of their lives alone, high up in trees in cool forests - they do not belong in captivity. We must take action to keep them in the wild, where they belong.
By adopting a red panda with us today you will fuel work to protect red pandas, and end their suffering in captivity. You will support our undercover investigations at zoos and other captive facilities, support our campaigns and help expose exploitation, to free red pandas and other animals from cruel captivity.
