Back in February we brought you news of a new campaign we were launching to get Sea Life, and its parent company Merlin Entertainments to end its exploitative penguin breeding and exhibition programmes, and rehome the penguins it currently holds captive to suitable sanctuaries. 

Since its launch our campaign has made it to the streets of London, to national press, to the desks of influential celebrities and experts, and now to the heart of government itself. Early in September, Danny Chambers MP tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM) in support of our campaign, which currently has the support of 9 other MPs. 

We want more of our representatives to back this motion to encourage debate in the commons chamber, and ultimately convince Sea Life to stop this exploitation.

Step One: Find out your MP’s name and email address by clicking here.

Step Two: Write an email expressing why you want to see Sea Life Penguins rehomed to accredited sanctuaries. We have drafted a template letter which you can use as a guide: click here download it. 

Step Three: Give your email a clear subject title, like “Please Support EDM 143: Penguins at Sea Life London Aquarium” and hit ‘send’.
