We've been very busy behind the scenes here at Freedom for Animals working on our campaign to ban mobile zoos from council land all across England. We've sent a copy of our detailed information pack on the problems with mobile zoos to every applicable council in England - all 315 of them!

What has been most heartening is the number of councils we've found who already will not allow these cruel businesses to operate on their land. Luton, Leeds, Walsall, Stoke-on-Trent, Wiltshire, Brentwood, Breckland and Portsmouth all have policies on not allowing mobile zoos on their land!

Further to this, West Oxfordshire Council stated that they any requests for a mobile zoo to use council land would 'unlikely' be approved. Huntingdonshire Council also have a policy not allow exotic animal displays on their land.

As well as this, we're also working closely with a select few local authorities in order to secure more bans on mobile zoos. Slowly but surely, councils throughout the country are making a stand against these very damaging mobile exhibits!
